WRITING 1 (5 marks)
Write a descriptive text of at least 40 words on the following topic:
“Your favourite relative”
Use these questions to plan your writing:
- Who are you writing about?
- What does he/she look like?
- What is he/she like?
- What does he/she like doing?
Your writing should be clear and well organised.

My favourite relative is my aunt. She is a kind and friendly woman who always makes me feel happy. She has long black hair, bright eyes, and a warm smile that makes everyone around her comfortable. My aunt is patient and helpful, and she listens to me whenever I have a problem. She likes cooking delicious food and telling funny stories. At weekends, she takes me to the park or helps me with my homework. I love spending time with her because she makes every day special.
Final Writing Tips for Students
- Write in full sentences and use capital letters and full stops correctly.
- Begin with an introduction sentence that says who your favourite relative is.
- Add details about appearance, personality, and hobbies in the middle.
- Use linking words like and, but, because, also to connect your ideas.
- Finish with a closing sentence that explains why you like this relative.
- Read your paragraph again and correct spelling or grammar mistakes.
